FY27 -FY31 IVHQ Fire Alarm Maintenance and inspection - Edwards

Background

The Illinois Veterans Home Quincy is seeking a vendor to provide fire alarm maintenance and inspection services for the Edwards system at the Hammond Hall Building. This contract aims to ensure the safety and reliability of the fire alarm system, which is crucial for protecting facility occupants and property. The contract is set for a five-year term, commencing upon execution.

Work Details

The vendor will perform comprehensive fire alarm system inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair services at the Illinois Veterans Home - Quincy – Hammond Hall Building located at 720 Sycamore Street, Quincy, Illinois 62301. Specific tasks include: 1. Conducting functional tests of all fire alarm initiating devices on a rotational basis annually. 2. Coordinating work schedules with the Facility Chief Engineer to minimize disruptions. 3. Performing all maintenance during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm). 4. Notifying the Facility Chief Engineer of any fire alarm issues before repairs are initiated. 5. Providing quarterly written reports that meet NFPA 72 standards detailing equipment performance and suggested improvements. 6. Managing monthly activation of the Edwards system by the Facility staff to comply with code requirements. 7. Conducting bi-monthly testing of flow and tamper switches as per NFPA Code 71. 8. Covering costs for replacing or repairing failed components under this contract, excluding damage from external factors like electrical surges or vandalism. 9. Maintaining lightning suppressing devices for system reliability. 10. Ensuring a safe working environment compliant with applicable laws and regulations. 11. Responding to emergency calls within four hours.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon final execution and will end on June 30, 2031, with a maximum total term not exceeding ten years.

All services will be performed at the Illinois Veterans Home - Quincy located at 720 Sycamore Street, Quincy, Illinois 62301.

Bidder Requirements

The vendor must have all necessary qualifications and certifications to perform the required services under state, federal, and local laws. All work must be performed by trained technicians directly employed by the vendor; subcontractors are not permitted.
