Background

The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) is the largest school district in North Carolina and the 15th largest in the United States, serving approximately 161,000 students across 203 schools. The Special Education Services department seeks to provide digital math resources for Special Education teachers to implement best practices during specially designed math instruction (SDI) for students with special education needs, as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This project aims to support approximately 6,440 Special Education students and their teachers.

Work Details

The contract involves providing a digital math resource that meets the following minimum qualifications: - Align with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study (SCOS) - Include content for grades K-8 - Contain remediation and reteaching strategies - Allow for student progress monitoring - Communicate with WCPSS's single sign-on system (Clever) - Provide explicit instruction with detailed text. The resource should also support approximately 15-minute lesson deliveries and include opportunities for mathematical discourse. Preferred qualifications include accessibility features for students with disabilities and prior approval by WCPSS Tech Services.

Period of Performance

The contract is expected to start in August 2026 and will be awarded for a one-year term, with the possibility of two additional one-year extensions at the same cost.

Bidder Requirements

Vendors must be licensed to do business in North Carolina and maintain appropriate insurance.
