Huron County Solicitation

Background

Huron County is seeking a consultant to provide Construction Inspection and Construction Administration services for the Peru West Section Bridge Replacement Project. The project involves the replacement of a three-span spread box beam bridge and includes approximately 500 feet of relocated roadway approach and embankment work. The estimated construction cost is $2,100,000. The project has been awarded to Great Lakes Demolition.

Work Details

The consultant will be responsible for providing construction administration and inspection services as outlined in ODOT’s Construction Administration Manual of Procedures. Specific roles required include:

Construction Management Firm

The consultant must ensure compliance with Federal Requirements for financial management system evaluation. Key tasks include daily field engineering and inspection, materials management, project documentation, active project management, claims management, prevailing wage compliance, EEO contract compliance, and finalization of the project. Equipment required includes a Nuclear Density Gauge and related tools, Concrete Control Kit for various ASTM tests, and a Paint Inspection Kit.

Period of Performance

The contract is expected to commence in August 2026 and conclude by December 2026.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed in Huron County, Ohio.

Bidder Requirements

Consultants must meet prequalification requirements set by ODOT for specific categories related to construction inspection activities. Only individuals (not firms) are eligible for prequalified construction inspection roles. Additionally, firms on the current Federal list of suspended or debarred firms are not eligible for selection.
