Background

The City of Huron is seeking a consultant to provide Construction Inspection and Construction Administration services for the South Main Street Streetscape Project (PID No. 118507) in Erie County. This project aims to enhance the streetscape along South Main Street, aligning with the city's mission to improve infrastructure and community aesthetics.

Work Details

The services required under this contract include: - Construction Inspection and Administration for approximately 1250 ft of roadway repaving and streetscape improvements. - Specific improvements include adding a multi-use path, decorative lighting, wayfinding signage, and landscaping from the intersection of RT 6 to Bogart Road. - The project requires personnel with specific ODOT prequalification categories: - Project Inspector 1 (1 required) - Project Inspector 2 (1 required) - Traffic Signals & Lighting Inspector (1 required) - Soils & Aggregate Inspector (1 required) - Construction Engineer Level 2 (1 required) - Additional roles may include a Documentation Clerk. - The consultant will be responsible for daily field engineering, materials management, project documentation, contractor payment processes, claims management, and ensuring compliance with prevailing wage laws and EEO requirements.

Period of Performance

The anticipated start date for construction is early September 2026, with an estimated authorization date for the selected consultant by August 2026.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed in Erie County, specifically along South Main Street from the intersection of RT 6 to Bogart Road.

Bidder Requirements

Consultants must meet prequalification requirements set by ODOT for various engineering and inspection roles. Additionally, firms must not be on the federal list of suspended or debarred firms.
