Background The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Network Contracting Office 16, is seeking to procure Internal Temperature and Relative Humidity Transmitters for the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center. This acquisition aims to enhance the facility's existing TempTrak Environmental Monitoring System, which is crucial for continuously monitoring temperature and humidity conditions in medication storage areas, as mandated by VHA Directive 1108.07. Work Details The contractor shall provide forty (40) Internal Temperature and Relative Humidity Transmitters (Manufacturer item code: 10071-032). The transmitters must be fully compatible with the existing TempTrak system at the medical center. Key specifications include: - Temperature Range: -4°F to 140°F (-20°C to 60°C) - Temperature Accuracy: ±0.5°F (±0.3°C) at 77°F (25°C) - Relative Humidity Range: 0 to 95% RH - Relative Humidity Accuracy: ±2% (10 to 90% RH) - Wireless Operation: Frequency-hopping spread spectrum in the 900 MHz band - Transmission Distance: Up to 2500 ft (open field) - Data Retention: Minimum of 400 hours onboard storage - Power: 3-volt lithium battery - Mounting: Must support non-hardwired installation - Calibration: NIST-traceable sensors - Warranty: Minimum of one (1) year. Period of Performance Delivery shall be completed within 60 days after receipt of order. Place of Performance Department of Veterans Affairs, G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center, 1500 E. Woodrow Wilson Drive, Jackson, Mississippi, ZIP Code 39216. Bidder Requirements Bidders must demonstrate that all proposed equipment is fully compatible with the existing TempTrak enterprise system and capable of wireless communication with the current receivers and software platform. Additionally, bidders must provide manufacturer documentation confirming compliance with all performance requirements and a minimum one-year warranty. Incumbent Analysis (see Incumbents section for more detail) The prior awards under 36C25625D0029 and 36C25623P1017 were awarded to Trillamed for TempTrak wireless environmental monitoring system services, including sensor/probe calibrations and service agreements for the Emerson TempTrak system. This opportunity’s requirement for internal temperature and relative humidity transmitters that must be fully compatible with the existing TempTrak enterprise system and communicate with current receivers/software appears to be a continuation of the same monitoring system lifecycle, shifting from service/calibration support to procurement of additional compatible transmitter hardware.
