Background In 2024, USSOCOM awarded a 5-year IDIQ for the Ground Organic Loitering Aerial Munition (GOLAM) II / HERO 120 to Mistral, Inc. Due to developing requirements, USSOCOM is seeking GOLAM II / HERO 120 that can launch from various platforms including land vehicles, watercrafts, and aircraft. The goal is to find sources who can provide these loitering munitions for SOF units engaged in detection and risk assessment during combat operations. Work Details The vendor must provide GOLAM II / HERO 120 systems that meet the following technical requirements: 1. **Meet GOLAM II Original Requirements**: The system must be a lightweight, crew-serviceable munition capable of high angle attacks (above 60 degrees). It should feature a separable forward payload section for safe handling and storage of explosive materials separately from the air vehicle. 2. **Integration with Mistral’s HERO 120**: The vendor must have permission, data rights, and/or authorization to modify the HERO 120 for integration with various capabilities and conduct Engineering Change Proposals without degrading performance. 3. **Must Launch from Various Platforms**: The HERO 120 must be man-portable and capable of launching from land vehicles, watercrafts, and aircraft in diverse environments where SOF Operators operate. Period of Performance The geographic location(s) the product will be delivered to or performed at Bidder Requirements Vendors must have the necessary permissions and data rights to modify Mistral’s HERO 120 systems as required. Incumbent Analysis (see Incumbents section for more detail) This opportunity appears to have a confirmed incumbent, with USSOCOM awarding the GOLAM II / HERO 120 IDIQ to Mistral (e.g., $46,319,594 for 05/17/24–05/16/29). The prior awards include delivery of HERO 120 drones and spares, loitering munitions and spares, NET for GOLAM II, and engineering change proposals/conversion work tied to GOLAM II system requirements. The current requirement to supply GOLAM II / HERO 120 loitering munitions that can launch from multiple platform types (land vehicles, watercrafts, and aircraft) is consistent with a continuation of Mistral’s ongoing provision and sustainment of the same munition system.
