Hydrofluorsilicic Acid

Background

The Town of Culpeper is soliciting bids for the procurement of Hydrofluorsilicic Acid (H₂SiF₆) to support its Water Treatment Plant operations. The goal of this contract is to ensure a reliable supply of this chemical, which is essential for water treatment processes, in compliance with AWWA standard B-703-94 or the most recent specification. The Town aims to maintain high standards for public health and safety through effective water treatment.

Work Details

The contractor will provide Hydrofluorsilicic Acid in 55-gallon drums, with a minimum concentration of 23-25% and NSF 60 certification required. The estimated quantity per delivery is 2,200 lbs, with a total estimated annual requirement of 24,200 lbs. All shipments must include a current Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and NSF 60 certification. Delivery will be made to the Water Treatment Plant located at 816 Woodview Rd., Culpeper, VA within 7 days from receipt of delivery requests from the Town. The contract will be for one year starting July 1, 2026, with options for up to three one-year renewals based on mutual agreement.

Period of Performance

The contract period is set for one year beginning July 1, 2026, with provisions for annual renewal for up to three additional years.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed at the Water Treatment Plant located at 816 Woodview Rd., Culpeper, VA.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must demonstrate capability to perform the contract and comply with all applicable laws and regulations. They must provide proof of insurance as specified in the solicitation documents and may need to submit performance bonds if required. Bidders are encouraged to participate in the Town's program to facilitate participation by small, women-owned, minority-owned, and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses.
