Laboratory testing for sexually transmitted infections

The contract extension seeks to provide laboratory testing services for the detection of reportable sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among at-risk individuals. The laboratory testing will be performed on samples collected by local health departments and community-based organizations in selected community settings outside of New York City. These services are essential for timely identification and management of STIs in vulnerable populations. Who is Requesting: This solicitation is issued by the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute.

Background

The Department intends to extend its contract with the Center for Disease Detection for a period of 18 months, from July 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026. This extension is necessary while a competitive Invitation for Bid (IFB) process is completed. The extension is being pursued because a competitive procurement for these services was not feasible due to delays in the procurement process.
