Kitsap County Community Development is issuing a formal bid for the Dyes Inlet Lagoon Bulkhead Removal project. The principal items of construction include: 1) Install Temporary Erosion and Sediment Control (TESC) measures and protect the site, with all access by land; 2) Remove existing shore armor, including rock walls, concrete rubble, wood lagging, and pilings, while retaining and reforming two rock sills; 3) Construct a rock retaining wall and return wall using on-site salvaged rock; 4) Excavate, regrade, and recontour the shoreline bank; 5) Import and install beach cobble 'toe' and gravel-sand for beach nourishment; 6) Properly dispose of demolished materials including some creosoted wood; 7) Import compost and wood chip mulch for planting areas, preparing planting beds; 8) Import and place four habitat logs. The work will be timed around the permitted fish window, ideally starting on August 1st.
