Brunswick Parks Department - Recreation Center Parking Lot Resurfacing

Background

The Town of Brunswick, Maine, is seeking proposals for the resurfacing of the parking lot at the Brunswick Recreation Center. The project aims to enhance the functionality and appearance of the parking facilities, which are essential for community activities and events. The Town Engineer will oversee the project, ensuring it aligns with municipal standards and community needs.

Work Details

The scope of work includes: furnishing and installing all materials, labor, and equipment necessary to overlay the existing parking lots and drive aisles with 1.25 inches of 9.5mm Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA). This includes performing areas of localized repair and restriping the parking lots to match the existing configuration. The front parking lot covers approximately 100,000 square feet, while the rear lot is about 30,000 square feet. Major quantities include: - 1100 tons of 9.5mm HMA - 365 gallons of tack coat - 120 square yards of localized repair - 90 square yards of pavement butt joint - 7,200 linear feet of striping. One lot must remain open at all times during construction.

Period of Performance

Work is to commence within ten (10) days after contract signing and must be completed by October 2, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at the Brunswick Recreation Center located at 85 Union Street, Brunswick, Maine.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide a bid security deposit in the form of a bid bond amounting to five percent (5%) of the total bid price unless the project cost is less than $250,000. A Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond will also be required from the successful bidder. All contractors must comply with local laws and regulations.
