Contractual Snow Removal

Background

The Village of Lisle seeks to enter into a contract for snow and ice removal services within its Central Business District and Commuter areas. The goal is to ensure safe and accessible public spaces during winter weather conditions. The contract will be awarded to a qualified contractor who can provide the necessary labor, materials, and equipment as outlined in the specifications.

Work Details

The contractor will perform snow and ice removal operations categorized into two main categories: - **Category I**: Sidewalks and platforms at locations such as the Downtown Central Business District, Commuter Station, Village Hall, and Police Department. - **Category II**: Roadways and parking lots including Commuter Parking Lot(s), Village Parking Lot(s), and CBD roadways. Specific tasks include removing snow from sidewalks, commuter platforms, and ensuring that all areas are free of snow and ice within specified timeframes. The contractor must provide adequate personnel (at least three employees) for snow removal operations, maintain communication with the shift supervisor, and adhere to strict timelines for response to call-outs. Deicing materials will be provided by the Village, with specific guidelines on usage. The contractor is also responsible for maintaining equipment in good working order and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Period of Performance

The contract term will commence on November 1, 2026, and terminate on April 30, 2027. There are four optional one-year renewal terms available at the discretion of the Village.

The work will be performed in various locations within the Village of Lisle, specifically in the Central Business District and designated commuter areas.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must submit a bid bond or certified check equal to 5% of their bid amount. They must comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act for all work performed under this contract. Bidders are required to have an office located within a reasonable distance from the work site to ensure timely response during snow events. Additionally, bidders must provide evidence of their qualifications through references from similar projects completed in the past five years.
