Background

The Gila River Indian Community's Department of Public Works (DPW) is seeking qualified firms or individuals to provide on-call engineering design services for various water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout the Community. The purpose of this Request for Qualifications (RFQL-0645-DPW) is to enable potential firms to prepare and submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for consideration. The Community is located in Central Arizona, encompassing approximately 372,000 acres across Maricopa and Pinal Counties, with projects expected to be scattered throughout the reservation.

Work Details

The selected engineering consultant will provide design and consulting services related to expanding, upgrading, or retrofitting the Community’s water and wastewater infrastructure. Specific tasks include: 1. Preliminary Design: - Consult with the Community to determine project scope. - Conduct necessary pre-design studies and investigations. - Prepare Preliminary Design Documents including a Final Design Criteria Report. - Develop a 'Master' set of contract clauses and technical specifications. - Provide an Engineer’s Cost Estimate based on preliminary designs. 2. Final Design: - Create Final Design Drawings and Technical Specifications based on community feedback. - Prepare bid documents including forms, invitations to bid, and instructions. - Assist in obtaining governmental approvals as needed. 3. Building and Negotiating Phase: - Review bids and advise on subcontractor acceptability. 4. Construction Phase: - Serve as the Community's representative during construction, ensuring compliance with contract documents through site visits and monitoring. - Conduct inspections for substantial completion and final acceptance of work.

Period of Performance

The contract period will commence upon execution of an agreement and will last for three years, with an option for two additional one-year renewals.
