Security Fence

Background

Lincoln Electric System (LES) is seeking bids for the installation of a security fence at the 40th & Gertie Substation in Lincoln, Nebraska. The goal of this contract is to enhance security at the substation by installing a new chain link fence according to specified standards and removing existing fencing.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: 1. Installation of approximately 326 feet of 7-foot high fabric chain link fence topped with 1 foot of barbed wire. 2. Installation of a single swing gate designed to fit a 4-foot opening. 3. Removal of approximately 310 feet of existing chain link fence. 4. All materials must comply with specified standards, including: - Fence fabric: 2-inch mesh, 9-gauge steel, either hot dipped galvanized or aluminized. - Steel framework: ASTM F1043 Group IA Heavy Industrial Fence Framework. - Barbed wire: Double twisted strand wire with specific gauge and spacing requirements. - Concrete for post footings must have a minimum compressive strength of 2,500 psi. 5. The installation must adhere to detailed specifications regarding post settings, rail installations, and securing methods for both fabric and barbed wire.

Period of Performance

The work is expected to be completed by August 28th, 2026.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed at the 40th & Gertie Substation located at 4801 S 40th St, Lincoln, NE.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must ensure compliance with all local laws and regulations during the performance of their obligations under the contract. They are also required to submit proof of financial responsibility and relevant experience within five days after bids are opened.
