Background

The Kanawha County Schools Purchasing Department is seeking bids for the inspection and testing of fire extinguishers across all school facilities and buses. The goal is to ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain operational readiness of fire extinguishers in accordance with national standards.

Work Details

The contract includes the following services: annual inspections, five (5) and twelve (12) year hydrostatic testing, recharging, and six-year maintenance of portable fire extinguishers. All work must comply with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) No. 10-2007 or latest edition. The vendor will provide all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, tools, and appurtenances necessary for the completion of the contract. Services must be performed annually between December and February. The contractor must start fieldwork within five (5) working days after a mobilization meeting and provide a proposed schedule for services. The contractor is responsible for providing replacement parts at cost plus a percentage, excluding sales tax. They must guarantee all work for one year following final acceptance.

The contract will commence upon issuance of the purchase order and will last for one year, with potential renewals upon mutual agreement.
