Painting Services

Background

Sarasota County, a political subdivision of the State of Florida, is seeking contractors to provide interior and exterior painting services on an as-needed basis for various county-owned or operated facilities. The goal of this contract is to ensure that these facilities, which include office buildings, warehouses, jails, courthouses, clinics, fire stations, and parks, are maintained in good condition through timely painting services. The County anticipates an initial contract term of three years.

Work Details

The contractor will provide all necessary labor, materials, supervision, equipment, and tools to complete the painting services. This includes preparation and painting of both interior and exterior surfaces. Specific tasks include: - Supplying all materials such as brushes, rags, stir sticks, paint (including varnishes or other coating products) that meet County specifications. - Adhering to American Public Works Association (APWA) industry standard Pantone colors for Sarasota County Public Utilities. - Completing surface preparation including cleaning surfaces by pressure washing and removing any loose or flaking coatings. - Moving furniture and protecting items from paint damage. - Using specialized equipment like high lifts or scaffolding when necessary. - Ensuring compliance with safety regulations regarding hazardous materials and providing a list of such materials prior to starting work.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed over an initial term of three years from the date of award.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed at various locations throughout Sarasota County including but not limited to office buildings, warehouses, jails, courthouses, clinics, fire stations, and parks.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide verifiable references demonstrating experience in similar painting services within the past seven years. They must also comply with all local licensing requirements and may need to submit documentation if bidding as a joint venture. Additionally, contractors must maintain appropriate insurance coverage including Workers' Compensation and Commercial General Liability insurance.
