Body Armor Outer Carrier

Background

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is seeking bids from qualified firms to provide Body Armor Outer Carriers. The goal of this contract is to ensure that DART personnel are equipped with high-quality, custom-fitted body armor that meets specific safety standards and requirements.

Work Details

The vendor will supply 100 units of Point Blank Guardian outer carriers, custom cut to fit concealable, bullet-resistant BIIIA-2 or AXIIIA-1 soft body armor. Each carrier will include embroidered Name and Agency ID Placards. Specific requirements include: - Color: LAPD Navy (BEL500) - Front features: Western pocket, sewn loop badge flap, 1” X 4” Name ID Placard with first initial, last name, and badge number, Molle load carriage, and epaulettes on both shoulders. - Back features: Top loading plate pocket with ID panel and slick load carriage.

Front Placard

1” X 4” Name ID Placard with standard silver or gold thread lettering and Velcro back.

Back Placard

3” X 11” Agency ID Placard stating 'DART POLICE' in silver reflective or gold metallic thread lettering with Velcro back. - Packaging must prevent damage and include contract number, manufacturer’s part number, and part description.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed as needed throughout the year based on department requirements for body armor.

Place of Performance

The geographic location for delivery is Far North Dallas; specific address details will be provided to the awarded vendor.

Bidder Requirements

Vendors must attend a Pre-Bid Site Visit scheduled for January 7, 2026, at the Central Rail Operating Facility in Dallas, TX. All required solicitation documents must be fully completed and submitted to be considered responsive. Additionally, bidders must register on Bonfire to submit a bid.
