Ivy Solid Waste & Recycling Center Sediment Basin Rehabilitation

Background

The Rivanna Solid Waste Authority is seeking sealed bids for the Ivy Solid Waste & Recycling Center (ISWRC) Sediment Basin Rehabilitation project. The aim of this project is to rehabilitate the existing sediment basin located on the north side of the ISWRC property in Albemarle County, Virginia. This initiative aligns with the agency's mission to manage solid waste effectively and sustainably.

Work Details

The project includes labor and materials necessary for the construction and installation of the sediment basin rehabilitation. Specific tasks include: - Installing a new concrete riser and barrel structure - Re-establishing grade on outlet and inlet channels - Re-establishing grade on the sediment basin - Any additional work as detailed in the specifications and construction drawings. The work must adhere to the specifications unless alternate materials or methods are approved by the Engineer.

Period of Performance

The contractor is expected to achieve substantial completion within 60 consecutive calendar days from the date of commencement as specified in the Notice to Proceed. Final completion is required within 30 consecutive calendar days after substantial completion.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at the Ivy Solid Waste & Recycling Center located at 695 Moores Creek Lane, Charlottesville, VA 22902.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be licensed in Virginia as either a Class A or Class B Contractor depending on the total value of their bid. Specifically, bids exceeding $120,000 require a Class A license, while those between $10,000 and $120,000 require a Class B license. Additionally, bidders must provide a bid bond equal to 5% of their total bid amount if it exceeds $500,000. All bidders must comply with local business licensing requirements and provide proof of authorization to transact business in Virginia.
