Signalization Improvements at Various Locations

Background

The Signalization Improvements project is funded through the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) and aims to enhance wind protection for traffic lights at nine intersections in Pinellas County, Florida. The project aligns with the mission of Pinellas County Government to provide superior public service and manage public resources effectively. The goal is to ensure that traffic signals remain operational during hazardous wind events, specifically those with winds up to 158 MPH, in compliance with Florida Department of Transportation standards.

Work Details

The scope of work includes upgrading existing span wires to mast arms that are rated for hurricane winds and impact resistance as per Florida Building Code. The project will involve the installation of mast arms and a traffic controller cabinet at nine specified intersection locations. Additional improvements will include ADA upgrades and minor resurfacing. The project must adhere strictly to Federal, State, and Local regulations, utilizing best practices throughout the construction process.

Period of Performance

The contract period begins upon the issuance date of June 15, 2026, with various submission deadlines leading up to the bid submission deadline on July 16, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at nine intersections located in Pinellas County, Florida.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with all applicable licensing requirements as per Chapter 75-489, Laws of Florida. Contractors must also register with the E-Verify system as mandated by Florida Statute 448.095. Additionally, contractors are required to provide proof of corporate registration with the Florida Division of Corporations.
