The Risk Management Division is responsible for managing the self-insured fund and overseeing workers' compensation claims administration.

Work Details

The Successful Offeror shall provide comprehensive TPA services including: 1. Management of the County’s self-insured workers' compensation program, including claim qualification determination and processing payments. 2. Day-to-day claims management in cooperation with County staff and external parties as needed. 3. Submission of monthly management and financial reports. 4. Recommendations for a revised panel of physicians and specialists. Specific requirements include: a) Consultation for periodic revision of medical panels; b) Creation of a comprehensive claim handling document; c) Provision of experienced adjusters; d) Compliance with Virginia Workers’ Compensation Act; e) Timely filing of injury reports; f) Guidance on reducing medical costs; g) Transitioning outstanding claims from the current TPA; h) Training County employees on the claim management system; i) Providing 24/7 claim reporting capabilities.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence on October 1, 2026, following an anticipated award in September 2026.

Services will be performed within Henrico County, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements

Offerors must be authorized to transact business in Virginia and provide their State Corporation Commission identification number. They must also certify that they have not defaulted on any government contracts in the last five years or been terminated for cause during that period.
