Fire Inspection Services

Background

Saginaw Township Community Schools is seeking bids for fire inspection services for the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 school years. The agency's mission is to ensure the safety of its facilities through proper fire safety measures, including the inspection and maintenance of fire extinguishers and suppression systems across multiple school buildings.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the following services: 1. Annual maintenance on all listed portable fire extinguishers, including inspections, recharges, and hydro-testing. Specific types include 10-pound, 6-pound, 5-pound, and CO2 extinguishers located at eight schools, the administration office, buildings and grounds office, and bus garage. 2. Fire alarm system inspections and wet sprinkler fire suppression system inspections at various locations including Arrowwood Elementary School, Hemmeter Elementary School, Heritage High School, Mackinaw High School, Sherwood Elementary School, Weiss Elementary School, Westdale Elementary School, and White Pine Middle School. 3. Semi-annual maintenance of up to five Ansul R-102 fire suppression systems located at Hemmeter, Heritage HS, Arrowwood, Sherwood, and White Pine MS. 4. All work must comply with Federal, State, Local standards and regulations including NFPA certifications.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed over two school years: from August 14, 2026 to August 13, 2028.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at various locations within Saginaw Township Community Schools in Saginaw, Michigan.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide proof of insurance naming Saginaw Township Community Schools as an additional insured with a preferred general liability limit of $1 million. Bidders must also submit a Familial Disclosure Affidavit and an Iran Linked Business Affidavit with their bid. Technicians performing the work must be properly licensed and certified.
