Elevator Maintenance Bid

Background

Saginaw Township Community Schools is seeking bids for an Elevator Maintenance Contract for the 2026-2028 school years. The goal of this contract is to ensure the proper maintenance and functionality of elevators across several school facilities, aligning with the district's mission of providing a safe and effective learning environment for every student.

Work Details

The contract includes labor for quarterly examinations (4 times a year) of the elevators. This encompasses cleaning and oiling the machine, motor, signal devices, interlocks, and controller. It also involves greasing or oiling guides, making necessary minor adjustments during regular examinations, and supplying lubricating oils, greases, rope preservatives, and wiping cloths. The maintenance services will be performed at the following schools: - Arrowwood Elementary (5410 Seidel Road) - Sherwood Elementary (3870 Shattuck Road) - White Pine Middle (505 N. Center Road) - Heritage High (3465 N. Center Road). Additionally, bidders must provide costs for a 3-year, 2-hour rated load relief valve test at Sherwood Elementary as per Michigan Department of Labor regulations.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence on July 1, 2026, and conclude on June 30, 2028.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed at various locations within Saginaw Township Community Schools in Saginaw, MI.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide a certificate of insurance naming Saginaw Township Community Schools as an additional insured for commercial general liability insurance before work begins. Proof of Worker’s Compensation coverage is also required. The preferred general liability insurance coverage limit is $1,000,000. Bidders must complete and include the Familial Disclosure Affidavit and the Iran Linked Business Affidavit with their bid submission.
