Background The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District is issuing a contract for the supply and installation of wire rope at Dillon Dam. Work Details The contractor is required to furnish all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for the installation of new wire rope on three control gate hoists at Dillon Dam intake structure. Specific requirements include: 1. Removal of existing wire ropes and sheave assemblies. 2. Installation of new wire ropes with specifications as follows: - Length: 1,750 ft per gate hoist (to be verified by contractor) - Strand Configuration: 6x19 Seale, Internal Wire Rope Core (IWRC) - Diameter: 1 1/8" - Lay: Right Regular Lay - Material: Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) - Minimum Break Strength: 130,000 lb 3.
