Background

The Commonwealth of Kentucky, through the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs, is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) to procure full-time Medical Director Services for the Carl M. Brashear Radcliff Veterans Center (RVC), a 120-bed long-term care facility located in Radcliff, KY. The goal is to meet the medical needs of the residents and comply with regulatory guidelines for long-term care.

Work Details

The Medical Director will provide comprehensive medical services including: - 24/7 consultation availability - Weekly contact with facility administrators - Board certification in a specialty area (preferably Geri-psych) - Admission and care provision for residents without personal physicians - Routine rounds based on resident caseload - Coordination of medical care among various healthcare providers - Documentation compliance with CMS and VA guidelines - Oversight of non-physician practitioners - Participation in quality assessment meetings. The Medical Director must ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and conduct mandatory background checks on all personnel.

Period of Performance

The contract is anticipated to commence on August 1, 2026, and continue through June 30, 2028. There is an option for renewal for up to two additional two-year periods.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at the Carl M. Brashear Radcliff Veterans Center located at 100 Veterans Drive, Radcliff, KY 40160.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be licensed to practice medicine in Kentucky and maintain a Certificate of Liability Insurance throughout the contract duration. They must provide evidence of insurance coverage prior to award. Additionally, bidders should submit work references and undergo credentialing reviews as per state requirements.
