Tile Zone Nutrient Reduction Wetland Project

Background

The Iowa Department of Agriculture & Land Stewardship, Division of Soil Conservation and Water Quality is issuing this contract for the Cer962218C Nutrient Reduction Wetland Project located in Cerro Gordo County, Iowa. The project aims to create a Tile Zone nutrient reduction wetland to enhance water quality and manage nutrient runoff effectively.

Work Details

The work involves selective clearing, excavation, grading, installation of inlet and outlet concrete structures, tile installation, and seeding. Specific details include: - Approximately 33,356 cubic yards of earthwork - One inlet and one outlet concrete structure - Two concrete manholes - 3,762 linear feet of tile installation - 22 tons of riprap - 1,202 square yards of turf reinforcement mat - 10.2 acres of seeding. The estimated construction cost range for this project is between $350,000 and $400,000.

Period of Performance

Construction is expected to commence within 14 days following the preconstruction meeting and must be completed by June 15, 2027. Buffer seeding is due by June 30, 2027, while structural seeding must be completed by September 15, 2027.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed in Section 18, Township 96 North, Range 22 West in Cerro Gordo County, Iowa.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be registered with the Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals & Licensing. A bid bond of ten percent (10%) is required with the bid submission. The successful bidder must furnish a Performance/Payment Bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.
