Work Details

The Contractor shall perform the annual audit of the financial operations of Amherst County, including the Amherst County Public Schools and related funds. The contract covers fiscal years ending June 30 for 2026, 2027, and 2028, with an option for renewal for an additional three-year term through fiscal years 2029-2031. Specific tasks include: 1) Prepare audited financial statements per Auditor of Public Accounts specifications; 2) Examine general-purpose financial statements according to auditing standards; 3) Review combining and individual financial statements as required; 4) Conduct a 'single audit' on major federal assistance programs; 5) Examine all county funds including Government Funds (General Fund, Special Revenue Fund, Capital Projects Fund, Debt Service Fund), Property Funds (Internal Service Fund, Enterprise Fund), and Fiduciary Funds (Trust Fund, Agency Fund); 6) Submit a management report on internal controls and operational suggestions; 7) Review submissions to the Auditor of Public Accounts; 8) Complete all fieldwork by October 31 following the fiscal year end.

Period of Performance

The initial contract term is three years from the date of award with an option to renew for one additional three-year period. The audits for fiscal years ending June 30 will be conducted in accordance with specified timelines.

Bidder Requirements
