Work Details

The contractor will provide various types of exams and services, including but not limited to: 1. Baseline and Annual Surveillance; 2. Fitness-for-Duty exams; 3. Exposure-related exams; 4. Firefighter exams; 5. DOT Physicals. The estimated number of personnel to be examined per year is approximately 600, with the agency retaining the right to adjust this number as necessary. All procedures must comply with applicable standards from organizations such as OSHA, NIOSH, and others. Specific requirements include conducting vital signs assessments, vision screenings, job functional analyses, audiograms, pulmonary function tests, respirator medical clearances, urine drug screenings, lead/blood work, and ensuring proper disposal of infectious waste generated during services.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award and is expected to continue through the duration specified in the RFP, with a closing date for proposals set for June 30, 2026.

Place of Performance

Services will primarily be conducted at Fort Pickett in Blackstone, VA, and The State Military Reservation at Virginia Beach. Additional locations may be requested by the agency as needed.

Bidder Requirements

Offerors must comply with specific certifications and requirements including maintaining medical liability insurance, having a Board eligible or Certified Occupational Medicine Physician available for consultations, and ensuring all clinical laboratory services are performed by licensed laboratories. Additionally, contractors must provide a Small Business Subcontracting Plan if the contract value exceeds $100,000.
