Poole Road and Martin Pond Road 24 & 30 Water Transmission Main Installation and Improvements

Background

The City of Raleigh, North Carolina, through its Raleigh Water department, is issuing a contract for the construction of the Poole Road and Martin Pond Road 24” and 30” Water Transmission Main project. The goal of this project is to enhance the water transmission infrastructure in the area, ensuring reliable service and improved water delivery systems.

Work Details

The project consists of the following major items: - Installation and tie-in of approximately 2,140 linear feet (LF) of 30-inch ductile iron restrained joint water pipeline, including fire hydrants and other appurtenances. - Installation and tie-in of approximately 1,410 LF of 24-inch ductile iron restrained joint water pipeline, including fire hydrants and other appurtenances. - One (1) 8-inch crossing to existing water main installed via jack & bore, with a fire hydrant assembly. - Demolition of an 8-inch Pressure Reducing Valve and replacement with a 12-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) on Marshburn Road.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must show evidence that they are licensed to perform the work as required by North Carolina General Statute, Chapter 87. The prime contractor is required to identify participation of certified Minority and Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) businesses in their bid, aiming for at least fifteen percent (15%) participation on contracts over $300,000.
