Background

The Central New York Regional Transportation Authority (CNYRTA) is seeking qualified vendors to provide lift equipped vehicle transportation services as part of its Call-a-Bus para-transit service, mandated by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The goal of this contract is to ensure that all trip requests made by ADA eligible customers within the eligible service area are met efficiently and effectively.

Work Details

The contractor will provide lift equipped vehicle services, including: - Vehicles must have lifts and wheelchair securement sites, accommodating at least two wheelchair securement sites and six ambulatory passengers. - Services will operate Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM with varying shift lengths, and on weekends and holidays as needed. - Drivers must provide curb-to-curb or door-to-door service without entering residential or commercial buildings. - Assistance for passengers may include guiding them to seats, securing seat belts, carrying groceries, and providing verbal cues for visually impaired passengers. - A live contact must be available 30 minutes before and after service hours to manage scheduling and trip requests. - Drivers must use the VIA Driver app for tracking mileage, fare payments, and schedule adherence. They are required to maintain communication with CAB regarding any delays or issues during service.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence on March 1, 2027, and will last for five years until February 29, 2032.

Place of Performance

Services will primarily be based in Onondaga County but may require travel to Cayuga, Cortland, and Oswego counties as needed.
