Background

The City of Gahanna, Ohio, with a population of 35,726, is seeking qualified firms to provide engineering design services for intersection and roadway improvements along the Stygler/Agler/US-62 corridor. This project aims to address safety issues, traffic congestion, and improve overall service levels in the area. The City has a strong Mayor-Council form of government and provides various public services including transportation, public safety, and parks and recreation.

Work Details

The selected firm will be responsible for: - Conducting up-to-date traffic counts and modeling; - Performing environmental reviews and land use analysis; - Conceptual design of preferred alternatives that maximize traffic capacity while minimizing impacts; - Detailed design services including roadway design, drainage systems, and permitting; - Integrating Complete Streets principles into designs; - Evaluating Smart Streets technologies; - Coordinating with utility providers; - Identifying right-of-way needs; - Preparing construction documents; - Supporting the City during construction phases; - Identifying potential funding sources.

Period of Performance

The contract is expected to commence following the award decision in July 2026 and will continue through the completion of all project phases as outlined in the proposal.

Bidder Requirements

Respondents must demonstrate a minimum of 5 years’ experience in designing transportation systems for municipal governments. They must also be registered professional engineers in Ohio. Proposals should include information about any subcontractors involved.
