Background

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) is planning to solicit proposals for a single, Firm-Fixed-Price contract aimed at renovating and upgrading an area of the radiation department at the West Haven VA Medical Center. The goal of this contract is to enhance the functionality and safety of the radiation department's facilities. Work Details: The project involves Design-Build services for the renovation of approximately 1200 square feet of existing IR Suite space on the first floor of Building 1 at the West Haven VAMC. Key tasks include: removal and/or relocation of existing IR equipment, interior finishes, HVAC systems, utilities, and medical gas. The work will require a redesign and upgrade of the space, including architectural design, activation planning, high technology medical consultation, physicist input, as well as structural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, communications systems and all necessary components to meet project goals. Critical phasing for demolition and replacement of existing IR systems is essential. Period of Performance: Approximately 540 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
