Water Management Plan and Program

Background

Nassau Health Care Corporation (NHCC), also known as the NuHealth System, is a New York State public benefit corporation established under the Public Authorities Law. NHCC operates several healthcare facilities including Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC) and A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility (AHP). The mission of NHCC is to deliver high-quality care, advance medical education, and serve as a safety-net health system for Nassau County residents. This RFP seeks proposals from qualified consultants for a multi-year healthcare water management and infection prevention contract. The aim is to design, draft, and implement comprehensive water management and treatment plans aligned with regulatory and industry standards.

Work Details

The scope of work includes comprehensive water treatment services at NHCC facilities divided into two written plans for each facility. Specific tasks include: 1. For A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility: - Boiler plant, steam system piping, and condensate system piping management. - Domestic hot water testing. - Dialysis water treatment oversight. 2. For Nassau University Medical Center: - Management of multiple cooling towers (15 Ton, 60 Ton, 100 Ton, 175 Ton). - Oversight of condensate return systems, steam systems in Central Sterile, domestic hot/cold water systems, sterile processing and HVAC humidification systems. - Construction water infection control risk management. - Management of ice machines and decorative water features. 3. Development of a comprehensive written water management plan that includes hazard analysis for Legionella and other pathogens, monitoring procedures, corrective action procedures, documentation requirements, emergency response procedures, and training sessions for staff.

Period of Performance

The contract will be for a three-year agreement with an option for a five-year agreement. The term will commence upon final execution of the agreement between both parties and may include a one-time two-month extension if agreed upon.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed at various NHCC facilities located in Nassau County, New York.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be ISO 9000 certified and licensed to do business in New York State. They must maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws as well as NHCC policies. The vendor must list NHCC as a third party on their insurance policies for notification of cancellation of liability insurance or workers' compensation insurance.
