ACM Abatement - Verbank IRA

Background

The Taconic Developmental Disabilities Services Office (DDSO) is seeking abatement services for asbestos-containing materials (ACM) at a residential property located in Verbank, NY. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safe removal of ACM flooring surfaces in compliance with relevant regulations and standards, thereby maintaining a safe environment for residents.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: 1. Review existing building asbestos survey data provided by the owner. 2. Conduct site visits to understand abatement requirements, site conditions, and work constraints. 3. Evaluate project abatement requirements against Code Rule 56 and assess the potential for site-specific variances. 4. Create and submit a work plan for approval prior to commencing work. 5. Remove two layers of ACM floor tiles as indicated in the asbestos survey and clean any mastic from the subfloor, leaving it ready for new flooring installation. 6. Ensure all debris is removed by the end of each workday. 7. Provide Project Manager Notes, Employee Certifications, Certified Payroll, and Manifests for DDSO records. 8. Comply with all contract specifications and applicable codes including New York State Department of Labor Industrial Code Rule 56, OSHA regulations, and NESHAPs.

Period of Performance

The work must be completed within 60 days of contract award unless modified.

Bidder Requirements

All work must be performed by a licensed abatement contractor in compliance with Code Rule 56. Contractors must register with the New York State Department of Labor under Labor Law Section 220-i if performing construction work on public projects.
