Traditional Breakpoint Nutrient Reduction Wetland Construction

Background

The Iowa Department of Agriculture & Land Stewardship, Division of Soil Conservation and Water Quality is issuing this solicitation for the Wri922420D Nutrient Reduction Wetland Project. The project aims to create a traditional breakpoint nutrient reduction wetland to enhance water quality and manage nutrient runoff in Wright County, Iowa.

Work Details

The work involves selective clearing, excavation, grading, installation of steel sheet piles, tile installation, construction of a water control structure, and seeding. Specific tasks include: - Approximately 12,950 cubic yards of earthwork - 932 square feet of steel sheet pile installation - 2,500 linear feet of tile installation - 59 linear feet of drawdown pipe - 532 tons of riprap - 106 cubic yards of concrete grout - Seeding over 26.3 acres. The estimated construction cost for this project ranges from $450,000 to $550,000.

Period of Performance

Construction is expected to commence within 14 days following the preconstruction meeting and must be completed by June 15, 2027. Seeding deadlines are set for June 30, 2027 (buffer seeding) and September 15, 2027 (structure seeding).

Place of Performance

The project will be performed in Section 20, Township 92 North, Range 24 West in Wright County, Iowa.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be registered with the Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals & Licensing and are required to submit a bid bond amounting to ten percent (10%) of the bid price. The successful bidder must also furnish a Performance/Payment Bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.
