New Engineering Building

Sealed bids will be accepted exclusively from prequalified General Contractors by The University of North Alabama Facilities Administration & Planning, located at 1660 Tune Ave, Florence, AL 35630. The project involves the construction of a new approximately 40,000 square foot building on campus for the new Engineering program, which will include classrooms, offices, labs, and a FEMA rated storm shelter. The work encompasses the construction of the new masonry building, utilities and infrastructure, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, and parking. A Pre-Bid Conference for pre-qualified General Contractors, Subcontractors, and Suppliers is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the project site located at 1660 Tune Ave, Florence, AL 35630. Attendance is mandatory. Bidders must submit a pre-qualification proposal that includes the latest version of AIA Document A305, a list of successful projects similar to the scope in the Bidding Documents, and evidence of successful completion of similar projects delivered on time. The pre-qualification proposal must be submitted to Volkert, Inc. by email at sommer.coleman@volkert.com no later than 4:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. Bids must be submitted on bid forms provided by the Architect or copies thereof. All Bidders must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding. No bid shall be modified, withdrawn, or canceled after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids that do not comply with the requirements of the Bidding Documents.
