Kane Street Sidewalk

The Town of Gate City, Virginia is seeking bids for the construction of the Kane Street Sidewalk project. This project involves the construction of approximately 2,000 feet of sidewalk along Kane Street, which will include improvements to pedestrian facilities to comply with current ADA and PROWAG standards. The work will also encompass the installation of standard curb ramps, updating cross slopes at driveway crossings, and the construction of ramps and stairs at designated locations. Additionally, the project will include drainage infrastructure and improvements to pedestrian signage and signals along Jackson Street. A pre-bid conference is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Town Hall, located at 156 E Jackson Street, Gate City, VA 24251. Attendance is encouraged but not mandatory. Bidders are required to submit their bids on a unit price basis, and the total anticipated bid price for the project is approximately $1,600,000. The project is expected to have a duration of 180 days. Bids must be accompanied by a bid guarantee as specified in the Instructions to Bidders. A Prime Contractor must be prequalified with the Virginia Department of Transportation for bids to be considered.
