Parking Lot resurfacing

Background

The Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School, a Commonwealth Charter School located at 195 Route 137, Harwich, Massachusetts, is seeking proposals for the resurfacing of its front parking lot. The goal of this project is to enhance the safety and usability of the parking area for students and visitors.

Work Details

The project involves resurfacing approximately 60,000 square feet of existing asphalt in the front parking lot. Key tasks include: 1. Resurfacing with a 2-inch layer of asphalt after milling the top layer. 2. Leveling the entrance from Halls Path to match the parking lot. 3. Cleaning the entire area by removing dirt, debris, weeds, and oil stains. 4. Machine edging to clear grass or dirt from asphalt edges. 5. Excavating and patching any potholes or failed base areas with hot mix asphalt before resurfacing. 6. Removing old railroad ties that meet the asphalt (removal will be handled by the Awarding Authority). 7. Cleaning and resurfacing around catch basins. 8. Re-striping the entire parking lot to match existing layouts, ensuring compliance with ADA requirements.

Period of Performance

Work is scheduled to commence after July 13, 2026, and must be completed no later than August 7, 2026.

The contract will be performed at the Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School located at 195 Route 137, Harwich, MA 02645.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must have project-related prior experience in municipal or commercial repaving projects and provide at least two references. A bid deposit of 5% of the total bid value is required upon selection, along with a payment bond of 50% if costs exceed $25,000. Compliance with Massachusetts Labor Harmony and OSHA requirements is mandatory, as well as payment of prevailing wages according to Department of Labor standards.
