The City of Coconut Creek, Florida is seeking bids from qualified and licensed General Contractors for the construction of a new one-story Police Department Kennel located at 4800 West Copans Road, Coconut Creek, Florida. The project aims to enhance the facilities of the Police Department by providing a dedicated space for the care and management of police dogs.

Work Details

The scope of work includes general construction of a new one-story dog kennel building. The contractor must coordinate all trades involved in the project and ensure compliance with the 2023 Florida Building Code across various disciplines including building, accessibility, plumbing, mechanical, and energy conservation. The contractor is responsible for reviewing all drawings prior to commencing work and must notify the architect of any discrepancies found. Specific tasks include: adequate bracing during construction, cutting and patching as necessary, maintaining existing services without disruption, verifying job site conditions before construction begins, and ensuring proper installation of all components according to manufacturer specifications. The kennel will have an overall building square footage of 579 square feet and will include features such as a standing seam metal roofing system with a minimum 20-year warranty, insulated impact doors and windows, and various plumbing fixtures including hose bibs and floor drains.

The contract is expected to be performed over a period culminating in substantial completion by April 15, 2026.
