Background The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) requires laboratory casework for the renovation of the Pathology Laboratory at the Togus VA Medical Center in Augusta, ME. The goal of this contract is to provide mobile laboratory casework that meets VHA specifications for lab safety, promotes environmental stewardship, and integrates with the laboratory design. Work Details The contractor shall furnish and install mobile laboratory casework, which includes specialized cabinets, benches, and storage systems designed for chemical resistance and durability. The basis of design is the Optima 2011 mobile steel casework manufactured by Mott Manufacturing Ltd. Specific requirements include: - All counter tops must be 1" thick epoxy. - Each setup must include 3 steel shelves. - Hanging cabinets as per schedule. - Each bench must have 2 circuits and 2 Cat 6A connections. - Shelving must be painted steel with all exposed ends finished. - Field drilling for grommets as required at workstations. The contractor is responsible for all labor, materials, product, equipment, transportation, and supervision necessary to fulfill these requirements.
