Construction: Perimeter Security Upgrades at Multiple Locations

Background

The Granite School District (GSD) is seeking bids for the construction of perimeter security upgrades at multiple elementary school locations. The goal of this project is to enhance site security through the installation of chain link and decorative metal fencing and gates, ensuring a safe environment for students and staff. This Invitation for Bids (IFB) aims to award a contract to a qualified General Contractor or Fencing/Landscape and Recreation Contractor who can fulfill the requirements outlined in the Project Manual, specifications, and drawings.

Work Details

The scope of work includes: 1. Installation of new chain link and decorative metal fencing at forty-two existing elementary schools. 2. Construction of new fencing runs, swinging gates, sliding/rolling gates, and associated hardware. 3. Provision of concrete mow strips along landscaped or grass areas where fencing is installed. 4. Possible removal of existing fences that will be replaced by new installations. 5. Restoration of any damaged landscaped or grass areas to pre-construction conditions using sod of the same species as existing; seeding is not acceptable for restoration. 6. Relocation of irrigation heads/system components as necessary for proper installation.

Period of Performance

The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to be completed in accordance with the project timeline specified in the Project Manual, with final award anticipated after GSD Board approval on July 7, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at various elementary school locations within the Granite School District in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must hold appropriate licenses as either a General Contractor (B100) or Fencing/Landscape and Recreation Contractor (S330). Attendance at a pre-bid meeting is required as detailed in the Project Manual.
