Background

The Commonwealth of Virginia, through the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, is seeking to contract with a vendor to provide on-site imaging services for residents at Piedmont Geriatric Hospital. The hospital serves approximately 123 residents, all aged 65 and older, who have some form of mental illness. The goal of this contract is to ensure timely and professional medical diagnostic imaging services are available to these patients.

Work Details

The contractor will provide on-site medical diagnostic imaging services as requested by authorized physicians. Key requirements include: - Availability Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with same-day delivery of x-ray results by telephone. - Scheduled services two times per week for x-rays, with additional as-needed (PRN) services. - Response time of four hours for STAT x-ray needs and 24 hours for regular calls. - Use of Direct Radiography (DR) technology for immediate image processing and bedside viewing capabilities. - Capability to perform Ultrasound imaging and EKGs. - All imaging reports must be provided in computerized format, including digital x-ray formats with typed signatures. - Previous x-rays must be made available for comparison when necessary, adhering to HIPAA regulations for data transmission. - All images and reports will be the property of the Commonwealth of Virginia and maintained as part of patient health care records.

Period of Performance

The contract period is from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, with options for renewal.

Services will be performed at Piedmont Geriatric Hospital located at 5001 E. Patrick Henry Highway, Burkeville, Virginia 23922.

Bidder Requirements
