Property Demolition

Background

The City of Coralville, Iowa, is seeking proposals for the demolition of structures and driveways at specified properties as part of its urban development efforts. The goal of this contract is to safely and efficiently remove these structures to facilitate future use of the land.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the demolition and removal of structures located at 409 5th Street, 612 & 612 ½ 4th Avenue, and 717 & 719 5th Avenue. This includes: - Demolition and hauling away debris from all structures, including removal of all structure slabs and driveways. - Removal (including stumps) of trees located at the property of 612 & 612 ½ 4th Avenue. - At completion, adding two (2) inches of topsoil across the site and one (1) inch of compost with grass seeding and hydromulch to prevent erosion. - Repairing or reconstructing any damage on the drive approaches and sidewalks adjacent to said properties. - Coordinating with private utility companies for disconnection of services such as electricity, natural gas, cable television, internet, water service, and sanitary sewer service prior to demolition. - Securing each site to prevent public access during demolition activities. - Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to structure demolition and removal.

Period of Performance

All work must be completed within six (6) weeks after a Notice to Proceed has been issued following the removal of asbestos from the property.

Place of Performance

Demolition work will take place at the following locations in Coralville, Iowa: 409 5th Street, 612 & 612 ½ 4th Avenue, and 717 & 719 5th Avenue.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must demonstrate familiarity with laws relating to disposal of materials and comply with all guidelines from federal, state, or local agencies. The contractor must have appropriate insurance coverage as per City requirements.
