Summary (Newest Update)

Background The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking to establish catering services for its Boulder, CO site, which lacks an onsite cafeteria. The NIST Public Affairs Office (PAO) aims to foster strong relationships with stakeholders through professional conference planning and audiovisual services. Catering is required for official conferences and meetings with varying attendee numbers ranging from 20 to 325, anticipated to last between 1-5 days. Work Details The contractor will provide catering services on an as-needed basis for a period of one year with four one-year option periods. Services may be performed on-site at the NIST campus in Boulder, CO or off-site within 50 miles of the campus. The contractor must adhere to Government Travel Regulations regarding meal costs: Continental Breakfast is capped at $20 per person and Lunch at $22 per person, both inclusive of gratuity and service charges. Period of Performance One year with four one-year option periods. Place of Performance NIST campus in Boulder, CO and/or off-site locations within 50 miles of the NIST Boulder Campus. Bidder Requirements Bidders must be small businesses with annual revenues not exceeding $9 million. Contractors must be located within 50 miles of the NIST Boulder Campus. Incumbent Analysis (see Incumbents section for more detail) This opportunity appears to have a confirmed incumbent based on prior award 1333ND22PNB100389, awarded to Organic Roots Catering for catering services for the NIST site in Boulder, CO (valued at $265,000) with a period of performance running from 08/25/22 through 08/28/26. The current requirement similarly calls for as-needed catering for NIST Boulder conferences and meetings with varying attendee counts (20 to 325) over a one-year base plus four one-year options, which aligns with the prior Boulder catering effort and suggests continuity of the same service need.
