Summary (Newest Update)

Background The James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAHVH) Tampa VA Mental Health Clinic & Domiciliary, located at 8541 Temple Terrace Hwy, Tampa, Florida 33637, has a requirement for the procurement, delivery, installation, removal, and disposal of Behavioral Health mattresses for use within the Mental Health Domiciliary Program. This initiative aims to support patient safety and enhance the overall quality of care provided to veterans. Work Details The contract involves the procurement of Comfortex brand name or equal mattresses. The specific requirements include: - 54 units of 35" x 80" x 6.5" Behavioral Health Mattresses - 6 units of 42" x 80" x 7" Bariatric Behavioral Health Mattresses - Delivery, removal, and disposal of existing mattresses. The mattresses must meet standards for patient safety, behavioral health environmental standards, bariatric accommodation requirements, infection prevention practices, pressure redistribution needs, and overall patient comfort within the domiciliary setting. Period of Performance The period of performance is from July 1, 2026 to November 30, 2026. Place of Performance The products will be delivered to the Tampa VA Mental Health Clinic & Domiciliary located at 8541 Temple Terrace Hwy, Tampa, FL 33637. Bidder Requirements Bidders must be Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBC). Additionally, bidders are required to provide authorized distributor or OEM documentation for the specified mattresses. Incumbent Analysis (see Incumbents section for more detail) This opportunity appears to have a closely related prior contract, 36C25925P0840, awarded to SDV Office Systems for $22,054 with a period of performance from 07/01/25 to 06/30/26. The prior award description is “BEHAVIORAL HEALTH MATTRESS,” and the current requirement similarly calls for procurement, delivery, installation, removal, and disposal of behavioral health mattresses (Comfortex brand name or equal) for the Tampa VA Mental Health Clinic & Domiciliary. The overlap in mattress type and the same facility/program context suggests the current effort may be a continuation or replacement cycle of the earlier behavioral health mattress procurement.
