Summary: Background The 436th Contracting Squadron is issuing a direct award to Rapiscan Systems Inc. for the Z-Portal Maintenance requirement at Dover Air Force Base (DAFB). The goal of this contract is to procure maintenance services for a vehicle and cargo x-ray inspection system that ensures the detection of potentially dangerous materials or illegal items at the Commercial Vehicle Inspection Gate. The current “DAFB Z-Portal Maintenance” requirement similarly focuses on maintaining the vehicle and cargo x-ray inspection system at Dover AFB, including preventative/as-needed maintenance and ongoing support to keep the portal operational. This appears to be a continuation of the existing maintenance effort tied to the installed Z-Portal system.
