Woodwards Mill Dam Raceway Repair

Background

The Town of Dunstable, MA is seeking bids for the repair of the Woodward's Mill Dam Raceway. The project aims to address a spall in the top slab of the precast concrete box culvert raceway using pressure injected cementitious material. This work is part of the town's efforts to maintain infrastructure and ensure safety in accordance with Massachusetts General Law.

Work Details

The work involves repairing a spall located at the joint between the first two segments at the outlet of the raceway. The contractor will be responsible for: 1) Sounding the raceway top slab with the Engineer to determine repair limits; 2) Sawcutting and removing deteriorated concrete to sound concrete, ensuring a minimum depth of 1 inch; 3) Cleaning all exposed reinforcing steel and applying a corrosion inhibitor; 4) Installing self-supporting formwork for grout application; 5) Using high-strength, non-shrink grout suitable for pressure injection; 6) Ensuring that the finished repair surface is flush with the existing slab; 7) Patching any voids or honeycombing after curing. The estimated repair area is approximately 24.5 square feet.

Period of Performance

The contract work is expected to commence upon award and must be completed by July 8, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will take place at Woodward's Mill Dam, located at 511 Main Street, Dunstable, MA.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with Massachusetts General Laws regarding prevailing wage rates and are required to submit a signed copy of OSHA Training and Compliance Certification. No bid deposit or performance bond is required if the contract price is under $25,000.
