Background

The Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC) is seeking bids for fresh produce to supply its correctional facility kitchens. This solicitation aims to ensure that the facilities receive high-quality food products that meet specific standards and requirements.

Work Details

The awarded contractor will be responsible for providing fresh produce, which must be properly labeled regarding identity and origin. All food products must meet the current United States Standards published by the USDA. The delivery schedule includes: - June 22, 2026: Buena Vista Correctional Complex (BVCC) - Prior to 12:00 Noon - June 23, 2026: Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility (AVCF) - Prior to 2:00 PM - Central Warehouse (CCCW) - Prior to 9:00 AM - Sterling Correctional Facility (SCF) - Prior to 9:00 AM - June 24, 2026: Denver Women’s Correctional Facility (DWCF) - Prior to 12:00 Noon - Denver Reception & Diagnostic Center (DRDC) - Prior to 12:00 Noon - Limon Correctional Facility (LCF) - Prior to 10:00 AM. All items must be shipped in appropriate transport containers and delivered F.O.B. Destination with no additional shipping costs. The contractor must provide a minimum of three calendar days' notice if unable to meet delivery schedules.

Period of Performance

The anticipated start date for the purchase order is June 17, 2026, with deliveries scheduled from June 22 to June 24, 2026.

Place of Performance

Deliveries will be made to various locations including Buena Vista Correctional Complex, Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility, Central Warehouse in Canon City, Sterling Correctional Facility, Denver Women’s Correctional Facility, Denver Reception & Diagnostic Center, and Limon Correctional Facility.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with accessibility requirements as per §24-85-101 of the Colorado Revised Statutes. They are required to submit a certificate of insurance evidencing coverage as required by the Purchase Order prior to execution. Additionally, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) must submit documentation of certification issued through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
