2026 Justice Center Resurfacing

Background

The Story County Board of Supervisors is issuing a solicitation for the resurfacing of the Justice Center Parking Lot located at 1315 S B Ave, Nevada, IA. Work Details

The contract includes the following construction work: - Full-depth repair patches (483 SY) - Pavement scarification (9659.2 SY) - Hot mix asphalt standard traffic surface course, 1/2 inch mix with special friction requirement (9659.2 SY) - Curb and gutter made of P.C. concrete, 2.5 ft (150 LF) - Painted symbols and legends using waterborne or solvent-based paint (10 each) - Painted pavement markings using waterborne or solvent-based paint (31.76 STA) - Mobilization (1 LS). Total proposal guaranty is $25,000.00 with a late start date of September 21, 2026, and liquidated damages set at $1,000.00 per day for delays.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be on the current Iowa Department of Transportation or local county list of qualified bidders to receive a proposal form. A certified check or cashier's check payable to the County or contractor must accompany each proposal. Additionally, bidders are required to provide an acceptable bond and Certificate of Insurance within 30 days after contract approval.
