Background The National Park Service (NPS) is issuing this solicitation for the remodel of the Golden Spike Visitor Center, located at Golden Spike National Historic Park. The mission of this project is to enhance the visitor experience by updating exhibits and facilities within the center, which serves as a hub for interpretation and education about the park's historical significance. The goal of the contract is to execute construction tasks that will modernize the visitor center and improve its functionality. Work Details The work under this contract consists of modifications and alterations to the approximately 4,500-square-foot Visitor Center. Key tasks include: - Site Work: Modifying the north viewing plaza and access to exterior interpretive areas. - Architectural Work: Modifying existing exhibits, constructing new exhibits, relocating retail space and NPS offices, renovating audiovisual storage, and updating interior finishes. - Structural Work: Enclosing the existing north porch area and constructing new exterior wall assemblies. - Mechanical Work: Modifying HVAC systems to accommodate revised layouts, including ductwork replacement. - Electrical Work: Modifying existing electrical systems for power, lighting, and audiovisual upgrades.
