Culvert Replacement and Roadway Restoration with Traffic Control and Associated Site Improvements

Background

The project titled 'T.H. 85 Ballash Road Culvert No. 31 Replacement' is initiated by the Board of Lafayette Township Trustees in Medina County, Ohio. The primary goal of this contract is to replace an existing culvert to improve infrastructure and ensure proper drainage, aligning with the mission of maintaining safe and efficient roadways for the community.

Work Details

The work involves the removal of an existing 96-inch diameter culvert and installation of a new 96-inch diameter 10 Gauge Aluminized culvert. Specific tasks include: - Premium bedding and backfill - Full-height cast-in-place headwalls - Footers - Ditching - Re-establishment of field drive with culvert pipe - Guardrail installation - Asphalt pavement work - Channel realignment - General excavation - Fine grading in preparation for seeding - Implementing stipulated traffic control measures as per specifications and construction drawings. The road will be closed for a maximum of 45 calendar days during construction.

Period of Performance

The work is scheduled to commence after a minimum notice period of fourteen (14) calendar days from the contractor's intent to begin. All work must be completed by October 16, 2026.

The project will take place at T.H. 85 Ballash Road in Lafayette Township, Medina County, Ohio.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must submit a bid guaranty in the form of either a Bid/Performance Bond (100% of the bid amount) or a Certified Check/Cashier's Check/Letter of Credit (10% of the bid amount). All contractors and subcontractors are required to use Ohio products and comply with prevailing wage rates as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce. Additionally, all subcontractors must be approved by the Board of Township Trustees.
