Weirs Boulevard Bridge over Langley Brook

Background

The City of Laconia, NH is issuing a contract for the construction of the Weirs Boulevard Bridge over Langley Brook, identified as NHDOT Bridge No. 135/128 and NHDOT Project No. 43845. The project aims to replace the existing bridge structure to enhance safety and functionality in the area.

Work Details

The project consists of replacing the existing single-span jack arch superstructure set on stone masonry abutments with an expanded cast-in-place concrete slab superstructure set on cast-in-place abutments. The new structure will be a 14-foot span by 7-foot rise and 59-foot long precast concrete clamshell box culvert. Additional work includes the replacement of sewer systems (both gravity and forcemain) and water mains. Roadway approach work will extend approximately 108 feet north of the bridge and 135 feet south of the bridge.

Period of Performance

The contract work is expected to be completed by July 10, 2026.

Place of Performance

The construction will take place in Laconia, New Hampshire.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be listed on the NHDOT 'Prequalified Contractor’s List' with classifications in bridge and/or bridge rehabilitation, road, and water. Bids from contractors not meeting these classifications will not be accepted.
